OK, so today I got a call - early (about 10:20am - I'm on holidays!!) and it was a recruitment person calling about an application I put in... going for an interview tomorrow - hope it goes well and I can get the fuck out of the Institute. It's funny, this is the second morning in a row that I"ve been woken up by recruitment people, and I have to sound semi-normal for them, which is hard enough when they put you on the spot with questions, let alone when you're half asleep!

Also today got my hair cut - lovely and fresh feeling I am now!

And Sam is up in Noosa visiting his dad, and has left me alone on this scary, windy, creeking house night!

Going to have a shower and hit the sheets - have personal training at 6:00am tomorrow morning, followed by the usual first day back histeria, inlcuding an interview!!

May the force be with you! (Watched Star Wars 1 yesterday.... funny is Yoda!)

Hello world. Apologies for being so slack, but I hate to admit that I have still been busy at work, and now have FaceBook...

But I am making amends on the basis that this is my second last day of holidays - and there may be some poor souls waiting for the next episode of the daily dramas of Amber!

So, the past few months have been a whirlwind, here is what I remember of it:

Got couch - wow was that a while ago - it's beautiful!

Started personal training - best step ever, have seen results - but have eaten them back on for the holidays and with recent cold.

June 28 - 29 - The worst batch of work training EVER! Came back with hatrid for the place and never wanted to go back!

July 7 - Wayne and Alison's wedding in Ingham - awesome holiday where I was able to forget about the work woes for once!

August 2 - 3 - State Convention for work - a success!!

August 4 - 5 - Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay - fantastic festival, lots to see, do and hear!

August 6 - present - Sick with cold, on holidays for the last week and a half - went up the coast, had a home cooked meal courtesy of my mum and played mini golf.

I'm sure that there is much more to report on that I am going to neglect, but not intentionally.

So, facebook has entered my life. And if you'd asked me as someone did a few weeks ago if I had facebook, I would (and did) say "what?". Then the following week to that conversation, Facebook was huge in the news, which even further made me want to stick to blogger like a crazy old lady sticks to her handbag. But then it happened, and it was a sudden uptake of my friends that did it - everyone who's anyone signed up! It was amazing - I'm in touch with old school mates, work mates, childhood friends along with the current friendship posse. It's great, and so easy to use - so I'm hooked. Every day almost three or four times a day I have checked to see if I have facebook mail, a new wall post - anything! And although I do need to post more to other people, so far I am enamoured with the website! I even have a pet!

So, although not the reason for three months of silence, facebook is partly to blame for not blogging over the past few weeks - but I, as always, will make more of an effort here in good ol' blog land. Especially after reading through some of my previous blogs and realising that although not a complete encyclopedia of my life during the past two and a half years, it certainly has the power to bring back fantastic - and sad memories!

That's all from me - but I will be back!

Hi!

I can honestly say that this time I have been flat out at work, and in personal life, so much so that blogging has been put on the back burner.

Things that have happened:

1. New State Manager - she's great, so motivating and professional, a bit of a change really. It reallly makes so much of a difference to my work life, which is fantastic to the rest of my life!

2. Stall on Fitness - since it's been getting darker sooner, swimming and running/riding have gone out the window. In fact, we went for a run/ride and I now feel fantastic. I have really missed the actitivity. I have a booking with a personal training company on Thursday to discuss possible training, etc.

3. Holidays, etc - Well I'm getting excited about my trip to grannies house, she's actually going to be coming back with me too! I think that the main reason for this is to give my uncle (the only son in Victoria) a bit of a rest as he's taken quite a load since my grandpa passed. Snow is stalled at the moment, but will still happen in one form or another. Looking forward to the Ingham trip also, and even though there's going to be a bit happening, we're hoping to have a poke around and see what sort of mischeif we can get up to. Perhaps a trip to Hinchenbrook Island, etc?!?

4. Furniture - Two thirds of our new furniture has been delivered, coffee table and tv unit. The couch is still about a month to 8 weeks off - a bit of a dissapointment as we were excited about it, however as Sam has pointed out, it would take us about the same amount of time, if not longer to order a new couch.

OK, well I might sign off now in the fope tht there'll be more to blog about next time.

Bye for now!

Hello!
Today I pulled an afternoon sickie and did some much needed errand running. Sick days appear to be the only times I'm actually motivated to do this stuff. I am kind of sick also - with some weird rash thing making me itch. I don't think that it's chicken pox, maybe just heat rash...

Today I left work at 1:00pm, waited for the bus for 30 minutes, then travelled on the bus for 30 minutes, then arrived home, changed and left. I first went to Amart Allsports, and then to Rebel Sports (familiar theme??) where I finally made my purchases! I got in line skates and a squash racquet! Lately - as referred to in my previous blog - Sam and I have been having a slightly more active life than we used to. Mondays we run/ride (I ride mostly, and Sam runs) Tuesdays we swim with the posse (Gil, Wayne, Laura, Sam and I plus whoever else we drag to Clem's) Wednesday Gil, Wayne and I are going to play squash together, while Sam plays with Chris and some of his friends. And then we're hoping to go rollerblading on the weekends (or maybe Fridays at Southbank until it gets to winter?!?)

I'm feeling much more energised about life due to this increase in activity... it's great. All of this fitness stuff is coming at a handy time with the big 2-5 just around the corner! Although that weekend is shaping up to be a not-so-good-for-the-fitness-kick one so far. Dacquiris at the Cas anyone? I'm super excited about my party at Strike - can't wait!

We are close to having a State Manager on board now too - which is good news, it's been a bit wishy washy for the past month without the old one around. I'm hoping that the new person will be suitable for the office environment...

Sam and I recently made a joint purchase on some lovely new furniture, which will be delivered in about 5 weeks time, so that's a bit exciting. I'm going to Melbourne in June to visit my Grandma, and to hopefully learn a bit more about her life before it's too late...It's only 3 months until Wayne and Gil's wedding, and Sam and I booked our accommoation yesterday - Helen at the motel is fantastic, my person of the week! We're planning a trip to the snow, either in Queenstown or NSW for August... anyone who's interested in tagging along, let us know as it's super cheap to get an apartment or house happening for a week, and if we have some tentative numbers, we can tell you how much it'll cost.

Another highlight in my life this past month has been ebay! I've sold about $150 dollars worth of useless crap on there - which is great! Something for nothing in my opinion. In fact there's a bloke coming to pick up my old computer desk this afternoon... I was a bit nervous about giving out my number, but what's the worst that can happen? Refer any investigators to my blog (hehe). Seriously though, good, cheap way to flog stuff you don't want/need anymore. I even sold some crappy floating candles I got for Christmas off our junior at work for 50 cents - LOL.

That's all from me for the momento - hope everyone is well and safe, and is looking forward to catching up on the 31st as I am!! xoxo

Well I've decided that I simply must start blogging a little more regularly, although I don't know where I will find the time - it has been so hectic at work at the moment... my boss has resigned, due to go to NSW to be with her love in Moree, and possibly work part time for the Institute. We have recruited our previous part timer, Georgina into the role of Marketing and Membership Co-ordinator and I am still in my same role, except a bit more streamlined, and I'll be focussing on the regions a little more along with a couple of other extras! Overall I think that this change will be a positive one, with possible state managers being interviewed yesterday by the CEO... my only real hope is that we get someone who is positive and innovative, and knows nothing about events!!

Personally, life is good, except for this weird cough thing that I've developed over the past week, it comes and goes in severity, but is really putting a dampner on what was meant to be a fitness kick - I'm meant to be running, and swimming and riding, etc - but this cough makes all of that obsolete just in case it makes it worse. So instead, the other night I spent doing 100 sit ups and 200 crunches to the detriment of my abs - try coughing with sore abs!! I don't really want to loose weight as much as shape up and get fit and healthy, which will hopefully result in the weight, but I don't really care either way.

I spent Valentines day in Cairns, at the Hilton eating room service and watching McLeod's Daughters, etc on free-to-air and then spoke to Sam and slept before waking up at the crack of dawn to hold an event. It was raining when I left the hotel, and luckily I'd packed my thongs, as the puddles at some points were up to my knees (slight exageration, although there were splashes that high). I got back yesterday afternoon and watched some Gilmore Girls (latest obsession) before/during and after sam getting home. Then Chelsea and Kevin came down and we all went to Sitar for dinner before going back to our place for a while before they left. I was exhausted and fell into bed with enthusiasm.

I am back at work today, and thinking it's Monday, so it'll be a pleasant surprise when I don't have to go to work tomorrow!

Coming up for the weekend I have nothing planned, Sam is going go-karting tonight - but I'm not financially up to it. I think I shall retire and possible do what I love doing best at the moment - watch Gilmore Girls!! I'm halfway through the forth episode of the fifth disk of the fourth season - exciting!! I have seasons 5 and 6 to go!!

Well, as boring as that all was, that is my life! Oh, I will tell you one thing though, I spoke to my Grandma, and she is doing well - one of her friends was staying with her for the past week (give or take) she said she's still "adjusting" but is OK. I promised her I'd go visit soon (she's in Melbourne) and have set a reminder for my calendar for the Virgin Blue Happy Hour so that I can do just this.

Bye for now - hopefully only until another lunchtime soon!
