Hello everyone! A lot has happened since my last blog….

We moved into our lovely new house!! I wish we owned it, but I will just write as if we do, because it’s so nice and new. The move went fairly hassle free – there weren’t any broken bones or furniture – good signs all round there! There are about 20 keys for the house, windows, garage, laundry, bi-folds, back door, etc, and let’s just say, lucky that they are well-labeled, otherwise it would be a pretty shitty game of “guess the lock”.

I now live with a man – the first time as a boyf/girlf situation (previously lived with dad, and my short-lived flat mate, Tim). I have to say that it’s pretty great! Having someone lying in bed, sometimes chatting, sometimes snoring while I’m getting ready for work is a treat! And yes, as I feared, I have been a little moody but apart from understandable complaining about said moods, Sam seems to be coping well considering! I think that he has already seen me at my worst prior to this, so it really came as no great surprise to him. We’ve also had some lovely meals since living together – the most notable was the outdoor lunch on Saturday with Art (Sam’s dad) which consisted of some marinated chicken, homemade pasta salad, green salad, beetroot and freshly baked rolls (well you know those ones that you finish the baking on??).

I’ve just lodged my 2nd module for the Cert. 3 in Meetings and Events – hopefully another pass, should be for all the effort I put in! I find that the more creative the task, the more painstakingly perfect my work is… must be my creative side coming to a head?!?

Also related to work – I’ve randomly applied for two jobs – both in this industry, one very similar to mine, paying 10K more and one not so similar to mine that I am severely under-qualified for – but what the hey?!? I will make sure any future employers make sure that I am trained formally within the industry.

And another work related topic, I am off to a launch party tonight at Strike Bowling Bar in the city… it is to launch a Younger members branch of the professional body for Events Management, MEA. I’m looking forward to the social opportunity, and it will be nice to network, maybe get myself a more interesting position than this one (which will be totally boring over the Xmas break – could be good for the study though, especially if I get a nice little pay rise).

I went to my first ever concert (thanks to Kelly). On Sunday the 17th, Kelly, Jolene, Heath and I went to Rogue Traders! It was a little last minute, as I hadn’t planned to go (thought briefly about phoning radio stations to win tickets) but it was a blast. I knew more of their songs than I gave myself credit for, and even their old stuff was great.

This weekend coming, Sam is off to Sydney, and I might be off to a Hen’s night (tagging along with Bec anyway). The weekend after that we’ll probably be on the coast (as it’s been quite a while). And the weekend after that we’ll be in Melbourne for my uncle’s 50th (can’t wait to see my dearest Granny) and then after than – nothing, but I think we won’t find it hard to book out that weekend too [maybe to our housewarming?!?].

Anyway, better go as typing this slightly longer than normal blog has kept me occupied for half an hour at least, and I haven’t really got anything to be going on with right now anyway, hence, I have booked a day off tomorrow to rest, relax and recuperate prior to possible drunken girly weekend!!

I know that this is crazy - two blogs in one day!! But I just have to say that moving is going to be rushed and painful. I hate moving, packing up all my stuff, unpacking it a day or two later (in the last case, three months later). We have a lovely three bedder in Annerley, that I thought was a two bedder (what the??). But we read the description, and sure enough, it said 3 Bed, 1 Bath, 2 Car. The last bit is a fib though, unless you paralell parked two mini's into that little baby, only Sam's car will fit - oh to have the night bus :) Good news is that there is a toilet downstairs - for those moments when.... other positives are the gorgeous bathroom and kitchen (had me sold from first sight). And the bit spacious deck and the open living areas!! Enough about that of course, we need to discuss serious business - parties - we will be releasing the Housewarming invite as soon as we're settled. But if anyone is around the Annerley area on Saturday, then we'll be around, so drop in.

That's all for now - Sam needs to get a quieter keyboard, or I need to finish up... looks like the later won as I'm at Sam's :)

Taken from Jem, who took it from someone else, and chances are, the list goes on and on!!

Joe Normal
30 % Nerd, 21% Geek, 30% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

Congratulations!

Can't add link, too lazy - check Jem's page for link though!!
